9 times table: trick and speed drill
Times 10, take one lot away. Then put it to work with a free 60-second drill.
The trick for the 9 times table
Times 10, take one lot away. 9 × n = 10 × n − n. For 9 × 1 to 9 × 10, the digits of the answer always add up to 9.
- 9 × 7 = 70 − 7 = 63
- 9 × 24 = 240 − 24 = 216
- 9 × 47 = 470 − 47 = 423
How the drill works
You get 60 seconds of 9 times table questions in both directions: multiplication like 9 × 7 and division like 63 ÷ 9. Type the answer and it is accepted the moment it is right. Your scores, best and slowest facts are saved on your device, so you can see the table getting quicker.

Questions people ask
What is the fastest way to learn the 9 times table?

Estimate first: round the other number to the nearest 10 and multiply. If your answer is far from the estimate, recheck it.
Is the 9 times table tested in trading interviews?
Trading firm arithmetic tests use mixed questions rather than one table, but fast table facts are what make the bigger sums quick.
