Fraction shortcuts
- Divide, then multiply. 3/8 of 64: 64 ÷ 8 = 8, times 3 = 24.
- Learn the eighths: 1/8 = 0.125, 3/8 = 0.375, 5/8 = 0.625, 7/8 = 0.875.
- And the others worth knowing: 1/16 = 0.0625, 1/20 = 0.05, 1/25 = 0.04.

Most questions ask for a fraction of a number with a whole answer. About one in three asks you to turn a fraction into a decimal. The number pad has a decimal point key.
