Get faster at mental maths in two weeks
15 to 20 minutes a day, in a set order. Short, focused, every day.
Week 1: speed on whole numbers
- Day 1: play three classic rounds for a baseline. Read the tips.
- Days 2 to 3: times tables test, then your three slowest tables from the stats page.
- Day 4: subtraction and division drills, then two classic rounds.
- Days 5 to 6: multiplication, using the heatmap to target dark squares.
- Day 7: three classic rounds. Compare with day 1.
Week 2: decimals, fractions and test conditions
- Days 8 to 9: decimals and fractions, learning the eighths by heart.
- Day 10: percentages, then two classic rounds.
- Days 11 to 12: one 80 in 8 or 60 in 6 test a day. Practise skipping instead of guessing.
- Day 13: your weakest area only.
- Day 14: light practice. Rest before the real test.
Every day
- Do the daily challenge to keep your streak.
- Look at your 10-round average, not single scores.
- Stop while you are still sharp. Tired practice builds slow habits.
